Even though over 70 years have passed since Bettie Boop first appeared in the Fleischer Brothers cartoons of the 1930's, the character still remains an endearing image in popular culture. Part of the reason for this is the fact that the classic image of the Flapper girl represents a part of history of the United States that - although long since past - has never been forgotten. Part of the reason for this is that the Flapper era started in the 1920's and ushered in an era of the fun, short haired party girl.
To a certain extent, this represented a certain whimsy that would soon be eliminated with the onset of the Great Depression and the Second World War as they represented serious times with little emphasis on fun, partying or hedonism. It is interesting to note that the end of the First World War ushered in a desire for whimsy that created the flapper movement much like the end of the Vietnam War ushered in an era of whimsy in the form of the disco generation as well. Perhaps it is because history repeats itself that the image is one that has never been forgotten.
This brings us to the unique and very authentic replica Flapper Costume that is offered for the Halloween season. This Flapper Costume looks very much like the original Flapper clothes that were worn many decades ago and some people may even believe that it is an authentic 1920's outfit! It is, of course, a reproduction, but it is an excellent reproduction that would prove to be on of the most unique Halloween costumes ever. This one is definitely worth considering for those women who are not sure yet what they want to dress up as. It is worth checking out.
